DAVIES® BASG Blackboard Slating Paint is an alkyd-based coating formulated for blackboards, bulletin boards, and similar surfaces for chalk writing. It provides a durable matte finish to make chalk writing clear and smooth and for easy erasing without chalk marks.

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
Application Tools:

Thinning:
Dilute with not more than 10% DAVIES® 40 Paint Thinner
Surface Preparation:
A. New Concrete
• All areas to be painted must be dry and free of dirt, dust, grease, oil and other contaminants.
• Sand wood surfaces until smooth to the touch and no slivers or rough edges remain. Dust-off completely, then wipe with a clean rag.
B. Previously Painted Surfaces
• All areas to be painted must be dry and free of dirt, dust, grease, oil and other contaminants.
• If the existing paint is sound and shows normal chalking, sand lightly and wipe surface dust.
• If the existing paint is cracked, alligatored peeling, or in generally poor condition, completely remove paint film by scraping, wire brushing or sanding.

Apply one (1) coat of DAVIES® 1360 Interior Wood Primer & Sealer
Putty:
As needed, apply DAVIES® 1000 Pro-Lux® Glazing Putty for surface imperfections
Primer/Sealer:
Apply one (1) coat of DAVIES® 1360 Interior Wood Primer & Sealer for putted areas
Topcoat:
Apply two (2) coats of DAVIES® BASG Blackboard Slating Paint
Recoating Interval: 6-8 hours
Drying Time: 8-10 hours
Clean-Up: DAVIES® 40 Paint Thinner
STORAGE AND HANDLING
• Keep container closed when not in use.
• Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated space.
• Do not transfer contents to other containers for storage.
• In case of spillage absorb with inert materials such as sand.
