Lacquer Based Wood Filler
DAVIES® LAX-TITE is a fast-drying, heavy-bodied, hardwood dough. It possesses high scratch and mark resistance, excellent adhesion, and good resistance to checking and cracking.

For patching up surface defects on wood such as wood knots, nailholes, cracks and joints.
PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS

Thinning:
Use as-is. Do not add thinner or reducer.
Surface Preparation:
Wood
A. New Surfaces:
• All areas to be painted must be dry and free of dirt, dust, grease, oil, and other contaminants.
• For open grain wood, apply DAVIES® 77 Laxtite Lacquer WoodDough using a putty knife. Let dry for 1 to 2 hours and sand. Dust off completely, then wipe with a clean rag.
B. Previously Painted Surfaces:
• Do not apply over previously painted, varnished, or enameled surfaces. The painted or lacquered surface should be stripped to bare wood using DAVIES® 300-X Strip-Eze Paint Remover.
• For open grain wood, apply DAVIES® 77 Laxtite Lacquer WoodDough using a putty knife. Let dry for 1 to 2 hours and sand. Dust off completely, then wipe with a clean rag.
Application:
Apply with a putty knife along the grains of the wood and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Wipe off any excess across the grains and let dry.
Painting System:
Putty: Apply DAVIES® DV-77 LAX-TITE Wood Dough
Woodstain: Apply 1-2 coats of DAVIES® Oil Woodstain
Primer/Sealer: Apply one (1) coat of DAVIES® 701 Hi-Solids Sanding Sealer
Topcoat: Apply 2-3 coats of either DAVIES® 702 Hi-Solids Clear GlossLacquer or DAVIES® 703 Hi-Solids Dead Flat Lacquer or DAVIES® 704 Hi-Solids Water White Gloss Lacquer
Recoating Interval: 15 minutes
Drying Time (to Sanding): 15-30 minutes
Clean-Up: DV-71 Lacquer Thinner
STORAGE AND HANDLING
• Keep container closed when not in use.
• Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated space.
• Do not transfer contents to other containers for storage.
• In case of spillage absorb with inert materials such as sand.
