Automotive Lacquer Topcoat
DAVIES® Speedglo Automotive Lacquer is a topcoat finish based on a nitrocellulose-alkyd resin. It is specially formulated for interior application on properly prepared wood and metal surfaces. It dries fast to a smooth, hard, and glossy coat of unlimited color choices.

New Surfaces:
Wood Surfaces
• All surfaces must be clean, dry, free from dust, dirt, chalk, laitance, efflorescence, rust, grease, oil, and all other foreign materials.
• Sand wood surface until smooth to touch with no slivers or rough edges. Dust off and wipe with a clean rag.
• Patch all holes and imperfections with DAVIES® 25 PasteWoodfiller or DAVIES® 77 Laxtite for a clear varnish finish. Use DAVIES® 790 Speedglaze Lacquer Putty for Duco finish. Sand smooth and dust off.
Metal Surfaces:
• All surfaces must be clean, dry, free from dust, dirt, chalk, laitance, efflorescence, rust, grease, oil, and other foreign materials.
• Wipe off oil and grease with solvent or lacquer thinner.
• Remove rust, mill scale, and stains with sandpaper, wire brush, or other abrading methods.
• Treat iron surfaces with a heavy coating of rust and scale withDAVIES® 200-X Greco Rust Converter, wipe off the residue, and clean with lacquer thinner.
• Apply the appropriate metal primer immediately after cleaning and drying to avoid the onset of corrosion.

Wood Surfaces:
• Use DAVIES® 300-X Strip-Eze Paint Remover to aid in scraping off old paint.
• Patch all holes and imperfections with DAVIES® 25 PasteWoodfiller or DAVIES® 77 Laxtite for a clear varnish finish. Use DAVIES® 790 Speedglaze Lacquer Putty for Duco finish. Sand smooth and dust off.
Metal Surfaces:
• If the existing paint is sound and shows slight chalking, sand lightly and wipe off dust.
• Remove cracked, peeling off old paint by scraping, wire brushing, or sanding. Use DAVIES® 300-X Strip-Eze Paint Remover to aid in scraping off old paint.
• Treat heavily corroded surfaces with DAVIES® 200-X RustConverter, wipe off the residue, and clean with lacquer thinner.
• Apply the appropriate metal primer immediately after cleaning and drying to avoid the onset of corrosion.
Painting System:
Primer/Sealer: Apply one (1) coat of DAVIES® 780 Speedprime LacquerPrimer Surfacer White
Putty: As needed, apply DAVIES® 790 Speedglaze Lacquer Putty White on surface imperfections
Primer/Sealer: Apply one (1) coat of DAVIES® 780 Speedprime LacquerPrimer Surfacer White on puttied areas
Topcoat: Apply two (2) coats of DAVIES® 750 Speedglo Automotive Lacquer White
Recoating interval: 1 hour
Drying Time: 1 hour
Clean-Up: DAVIES® 71 Lacquer Thinner
STORAGE AND HANDLING
• Keep container closed when not in use.
• Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated space.
• Do not transfer contents to other containers for storage.
• In case of spillage absorb with inert materials such as sand.
